Sheri DeSchaaf, PT, DPT

Dr. Sheri DeSchaaf completed her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Chapman University in 2011. After working several years in outpatient orthopedics, she pursued specialization in pelvic floor dysfunction and women’s health physical therapy. Her compassion for the unspoken physical trials of new mothers has fostered the desire to offer natural, conservative treatment options for issues that uniquely impact women.

Dr. Sheri founded SHEFit because she believes that quality care requires personalized, one-on-one attention. She is dedicated to hearing your story and creating a treatment plan based on your unique situation, goals, and priorities.

Dr. Sheri is pursuing her Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioner Certification through the Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute, and periodically lectures for fitness professionals, healthcare professionals, birth centers, and the public throughout San Diego County.

When not treating patients, Sheri enjoys running, Pilates, weightlifting, hiking, beach-cruising on the boardwalk, cooking, travelling, and watching her husband Jay play beach volleyball.

Jessica Chavarria, PT, DPT

Dr. Jessica Chavarria completed her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of St. Augustine in San Marcos, CA. She enthusiastically joins SHEFit with 3 years of experience as a Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist. Jessica has experience treating pregnant and postpartum women, incontinence and other bowel and bladder dysfunctions, diastasis recti, pelvic pain, POP, and post operative procedures including hysterectomy, mastectomy, reconstructive surgeries, and many more. As a mom herself, Jessica has a passion for bridging the gap between postpartum care and return to exercise and fitness. 

Jessica loves to laugh, enjoys a good cup of coffee, and considers herself a foodie. When she’s not at SHEFit she’s likely spending time with her little guy and husband, rollerblading, hiking, yoga, weight lifting, or at book club with her girlfriends.

Rebecca VanDenMeerendonk, PT, DPT

Dr. Rebecca completed her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of St. Augustine in 2015.  As a mom of two, Rebecca appreciates the need for rehabilitation in the prenatal and postpartum periods. She has taken numerous continuing education courses to continue her passion for learning about the human body during pregnancy, postpartum, and return to exercise for the female athlete.

Her specialties within pelvic health include visceral manipulation and low pressure fitness (hypopressives) as complimentary rehabilitation tools.

When not in the clinic, Rebecca enjoys running, strength training, hiking, and paddle boarding with her family. She enjoys traveling to new places, soaking up San Diego before the next PCS, baking cookies, and crafting.

Nora Vince, PT, DPT

Dr. Nora completed her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Southern California in 2013. She specializes in pelvic floor, orthopedics, and pregnancy related physical therapy. Nora has practiced in the UCSD Pelvic Floor Therapy department for the past 3 years, as well as concierge orthopedic and home health settings prior to that. Dr. Nora has a special passion for empowering women to thrive in the “fourth trimester” and throughout their lifespan. She has earned her Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioner Certification from the Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute.  Dr. Nora is an avid supporter of fitness and carries Certifications as a Pilates Instructor and a Registered Yoga Teacher.

In her free time Nora enjoys hiking, the ocean, and playing outdoors with her family.

Meghan Zwahlen PT, DPT

Dr. Meghan completed her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Columbia University in New York, NY in 2019.   She has worked in evaluating and treating patients in orthopedic physical therapy settings.  Her specializations include treating women’s health and pelvic floor conditions, running athletes and biomechanical video analysis, and vestibular therapy. She has served as a Clinical Instructor, mentoring physical therapy students at USC, San Diego State University, and Columbia University.

Dr. Meghan has completed the Herman & Wallace Pelvic Floor 1 and the Herman & Wallace “Nutrition Perspectives for the Pelvic Rehab”.
